Landforms

Two geologic forces are responsible for shaping most of Earth's major land formations: first, the movements of tectonic plates; and second, the processes of weathering and erosion, which occur over very long periods of time. Ice caps are an exception to these rules: They form when large amounts of water freeze and remain frozen for a long time.
